As an activating activity for our novel study on
Island of the Blue Dolphins written

Scott O'Dell, the students worked in groups to plan a survival strategy for if they were stranded on an island surrounded by sea water with only the clothes on their backs. The challenge was to determine what they would do for food, clothing, shelter and fresh water to ensure their survival and how they would conquer the enemies of survival (
Fear/Anxiety, Cold/Heat, Thirst, Boredom/Loneliness, Fatigue, Hunger, Pain/Injury). Then, they were to create an oral and visual presentation to explain their strategies. Below are the posters they created!
