Operation Christmas Child 5G 2015

Each year the students at Linden Christian School put together shoe boxes for the Operation Christmas Child campaign.  In 5G this year, we gathered 18 boxes between donations sent to be packed in the classroom and completed boxes sent in by our families to bless 18 boys and girls somewhere in the world.  Part of the vision of the school is to create compassionate community members.  This is just one of the may things that we do at the school to promote this vision.  We would like to send out a big THANK YOU to all of our 5G families for your donations.

As a part of our collection process, we gather together all of the boxes at a final chapel.  Here we worship God and we pray for each of the individuals who will receive a box.  We were blessed at this chapel to have a special guest named, Lweh Myahtoo.  Lweh was one of the individuals who had received a shoe box from Operation Christmas Child when he was a young boy in a refugee camp in Burma.  It was great to hear his story.  At the end of the chapel, the students then formed a human chain to move the boxes to the collection container out on the parking lot.

Remembrance Day Chapel Performance and Poppies 2015

The students in 5G worked very hard to memorize lines and present an effective presentation at our annual Remembrance Day chapel at the school.  It is our hope that the men and women who have sacrificed for our freedom were honoured through our performance.

Here is a link to the write-up on the school's website.

The students in 5G also painted poppies in the likeness of Georgia O'Keeffe using oil pastels.  The following are some samples of their work.
